Routes between the 193 stations of Istanbul's 14 rail lines — metro lines M1 to M9, the M11 to İstanbul Airport, the Marmaray under the Bosphorus and the F1 and F4 funiculars —, with line status and official fares, in your pocket or in your browser, in 7 languages.
Metrozinho has a version for each city, with the local map, fares and line status.
Use it right in your browser, no sign-up, or install it from the App Store and Google Play.
Pick the stations or type addresses: the route appears with line, direction and transfers.
The same status screen as the app, live, refreshed every minute.
Values pulled automatically from the source — the same ones shown in the app.
Just landed in Istanbul? Never taken the metro here? Relax — everyone was a beginner once. Here's everything you need to know, no red tape.
A ride with İstanbulkart costs 46,20 ₺; the single-use electronic ticket for 1 ride costs 65 ₺. Fares are set by Istanbul's metropolitan municipality and are adjusted more than once a year — the app and this page show the current official values.
Transfers with İstanbulkart are discounted. The M11 (airport) and the Marmaray have their own fares, by distance — check them at the station before you travel.
Staying a few days? Get an İstanbulkart, the city's rechargeable transport card: each ride is cheaper than with the single-use ticket, and it is accepted across Istanbul's public transport. If you'll make more than about three rides, it usually pays off.
Just one or two rides? Buy the single-use electronic ticket (1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 rides) at the stations.
Students and people with social discounts use personalised cards with their own fares — visitors use the anonymous İstanbulkart or the electronic ticket. If in doubt, ask the station staff.
Each line runs in two directions, and the signs show the name of the last station in that direction — that's the "direction".
Example: you're at Yenikapı and want to go to Taksim on the M2. Taksim is towards the north end of the line, so follow the signs for Hacıosman.
💛 Our app sorts this out for you: every route shows the direction of each leg. Took the wrong side? Get off at the next stop, cross the platform and head back.
A transfer is just changing trains — get off and follow the signs with the code and color of the next line (M2, M4, Marmaray…). Key hubs: Yenikapı (M1A, M1B, M2 and Marmaray), Taksim (M2 and F1), Levent (M2 and M6), Gayrettepe (M2 and M11), Üsküdar (M5 and Marmaray) and Ayrılık Çeşmesi (M4 and Marmaray).
Europe ↔ Asia: the Marmaray crosses under the Bosphorus between Sirkeci and Üsküdar — it's the rail link between the two sides of the city.
💛 In the app, the route shows exactly where to get off and which line to take — with an animated map showing the way.
The metro and the funiculars run every day from about 6 am to midnight. To be sure of your transfer late at night, be on the platform of the transfer station before closing time.
Night metro: on Friday and Saturday nights, some lines (such as M1A, M2, M4, M5 and M6) run all night, with trains every 20–30 minutes.
The M11 and the Marmaray have their own timetables (TCDD Taşımacılık) — check them before you go. Official times are at metro.istanbul.
İstanbul Airport (IST): take the M11 — from Gayrettepe (M2) or Kağıthane (M7) — to the İstanbul Havalimanı station.
Sabiha Gökçen (SAW), on the Asian side: it's the last station of the M4, which starts in Kadıköy.
⚠️ The M1A still ends at "Atatürk Havalimanı", but that airport no longer has commercial passenger flights — don't take it to catch a plane.
Station staff can help with any question — don't be shy to ask. Left something on the train? Go to the station's information desk or the operator's official channels.
🕌 Old town: for Sultanahmet, Hagia Sophia, Topkapı and Eminönü, the nearest station in the app is Sirkeci (Marmaray); the T1 tram, which stops right there, is not in the app yet.
👀 Local tip: at the busiest stations (Yenikapı, Taksim, Şişli-Mecidiyeköy, Üsküdar) and at rush hour, keep your phone and wallet in front of you. And let people get off the train before you get on.
Speak or type your way — the assistant understands, plots the route instantly and guides you like a friend from Istanbul. In Turkish, English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German and Italian.
Find the way between any two stations on the 14 lines, with the platform direction and transfers shown line by line — including the crossing between Europe and Asia on the Marmaray.
Before you go, check the status of the Metro İstanbul lines and their service notices, straight from the official source. On the M11 and the Marmaray, which have no public real-time status, the app says so clearly — instead of guessing.
Know exactly what you'll pay before you reach the turnstile: İstanbulkart and electronic ticket fares, with up-to-date official prices.
Speak or type — "how do I get to the airport?" — and the assistant plots the route instantly, checks the line status and guides you step by step. By text or by voice.
Enter your starting and destination addresses: the app finds the nearest station to each, the walk, and builds the trip.
Turkish, English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German and Italian — with automatic detection of your phone's language. Perfect for visitors to Istanbul.
Meeting someone? Share your trip link and they can follow your estimated position on the map until you arrive — no sign-up for either of you.
